There are many reasons to properly and professionally landscape a property.
Here are just a few:
|
Sometimes it’s because the area is too hot in the summer, has no sense of privacy from neighbors, or is too noisy with street sounds. We can help solve all of these issues. And while we’re at it, let’s talk about night lighting your property. Many people get home from work so late that their garden is too dark to enjoy in the evenings. Proper lighting extends the amount of time you can spend enjoying the outdoors.

Ever heard about how important first impressions are? Well in most cases people see the landscaping around your house before they see the house itself. What sort of 'Curb Appeal' does your property have? An overgrown, out of date landscape can turn away potential buyers quicker than that nasty paint colour in the master bedroom. And, this is the kind of investment that you can see, touch, smell, hear, and even taste - you can’t do that with Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds!

PEACE, LOVE, and LANDSCAPING can make even the tiniest space feel lush and green. There’s nothing like being able to come home from working in the 'Concrete Jungle' to a clean, manicured, lush garden so that you can relax and enjoy. We can even create that cottage retreat or tropical getaway right in your own backyard!

Shrubs provide wind breaks and shelter for native birds and animals. Perennials provide food and habitat for beneficial insects and butterflies. We can help you attract wildlife to your property. And how better to teach your children about nature than to have it right in your backyard?

Sometimes incorrect or overgrown landscaping can create opportunities for unsavory individuals to gain access to your house in shelter and privacy.
Proper landscaping and night lighting can reduce this risk, while at the same time increase the beauty and charm of your home.

Watering
Freshly planted material has suffered a lot of root damage, and as a result are not able to uptake as much water. Your new plants should be watered daily for the first 2 weeks (unless it rains that day of course!). If you miss a day here and there it won’t be the end of the world, but if you’ve just spent a small fortune on landscaping and will be away for extended periods of time, look into having a friend or neighbor drop by to help out. After the 2 weeks gradually ease off your watering to once a week maximum.
Take a moment to read more about Watering Do’s and Don’ts in the Articles section of my website.
Staking
Newly planted trees and some taller shrubs should be staked for the first year in their new home. After that time the stake and tree tie should be removed to prevent damage to the trunk through abrasion or worse, girdling. If the tree is in a high wind area a 2nd season may be required for it to set up a good solid root system, however staked trees can become reliant on their braces for support. The action of the wind upon a tree actually encourages it to for stabilizing lateral roots.
